All about Mrs. Power
My name is Carrie Power and this year is my 13th year teaching. I began my teaching career at Fort Daniel and helped open Duncan Creek 11 years ago.
Growing up in Gwinnett County and attending Camp Creek, Trickum, and Parkview, I knew I wanted to become a teacher in the same county.
I attended Clemson University and earned my undergrad degree in Elementary Education. A few years later I earned my Masters Degree in Elementary Reading from Nova Southeastern University's online program. Traveling to Tenessee one or two weekends a month I earned my Specialist Degree in Leadership in 2007.
This year I'm beginning the new journey of being a 3rd grade teacher. I've taught 2nd grade for my entire career and I'm excited about "moving up" to the 2nd floor and teaching a new curriculum!
In July of 2008 my husband, Wes, and I were married and in January of 2010 we had our son Daniel. Our family grew in March of 2012 when we had our daughter Caroline. We enjoy watching Daniel learn so much each day and seeing how he adores his "Sweet Caroline." Caroline keeps us on our toes as she runs around and learns new words all the time. I'm blessed to have such a wonderful and loving family.
